Slane Castle Single Malt

Another Irish whiskey brand that's turning into a distillery. Lord Mountcharles, owner of the famous castle and rock concert venue in Co Meath, launched this brand using Cooley whiskey, but when Beam bought the Co Louth distillery, they stopped supplying Slane Castle. Determined not to let the whiskey fade away, Lord Mountcharles set about building his own distillery on the grounds of the castle. The American Ambassador to Ireland broke ground on the new facility in September 2015. And with drinks giants Brown-Forman backing the new distillery, it's going to be a serious operation.
