Tamdhu Distinction Quercus Alba

Another heavily-sherried expression from Tamdhu but this one is a little different. A single oak type is used for the casks, namely American oak or Quercus Alba. Many people might mistakenly think that means ex-Bourbon casks but it does not! The Quercus Alba oak is grown in the USA then the staves are sent to Europe where they are air dried and then toasted before being seasoned by Oloroso Sherry. Only then are they used to matured the Tamdu spirit. So, the casks are Oloroso Sherry but the oak in those casks is American. The result is classic Tamdhu.
