Following on from the hugely successful Caskmates Stout edition comes this crisp and fruity tasting IPA cask aged Jameson. This is created the same way: Jameson whiskey barrels are sent to a local brewery where they are used to mature an IPA, the casks are then returned to Jameson where the whiskey is finished again in the casks giving the whiskey gentle hop and fruit flavours.

    They make great grain whiskey at the Cooley Distillery, where the Teeling brothers learnt their trade before setting up their own operation in Dublin's Liberties. They've finished this sweet grain whiskey in wine casks, which has given the spirit some extra character, with bubblegum and vanilla notes.     Connemara is rare amongst Irish whiskey, its hook being the smokiness associated with the malts produced by our neighbours Scotland. It's a style of whiskey that had died away in Ireland after the 19th century, when small distillers would probably have dried their malt with whatever fuel was available at the time. It's said that when the Cooley Distillery started up in the late 1980s, it had no plans to make a smoky whiskey, but at some stage peaty malt was bought and run through the stills with fantastic results. ..
