This Midleton was distilled at the old distillery and released around the time when Irish Distllers was formed. It most likely comes from the late 1960s or early 1970s. An interesting 'Reserve' or superior quality bottling, a lot of these were kept in collections as it was deemed too good to drink!..

A well-aged Macallan single malt that has been matured in both American oak Sherry casks and European oak Sherry casks. Aged for at least 18 years the American oak brings in flavours of vanilla, coconut and honey whilst the European oak adds more tannin, spice and clove notes. A hefty single malt that has really nice complexity. ..
