Celtic Cask Seasca a Ceathair (64) 18 Year Old Px Cask

Distilled in 2007, this exceptional 18 Year Old Irish Single Malt Whiskey has spent nearly two decades maturing through a carefully curated series of premium casks. Its journey began in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, where the spirit developed a rich foundation of vanilla sweetness, honeyed malt, and fresh orchard fruit character before being transferred to ex-Fino sherry butts in 2015, adding further depth, elegance, and complexity.

In 2021, one of these mature ex-Fino sherry butts was divided between two ex-Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry casks of different sizes—128 litres and 300 litres. Celtic Cask 64 was matured in the smaller 128-litre cask, where the increased spirit-to-wood interaction accelerated flavour development and intensified the influence of the rich PX sherry.

The result is a deeply expressive single cask Irish whiskey layered with dark fruits, treacle, figs, dates, chocolate-covered raisins, and warming spice. The Pedro Ximénez cask contributes remarkable richness and concentration while preserving the balance, structure, and refinement gained throughout its eighteen years of maturation.
